A monitor arm is the cheapest change you can make to a workstation that people actually notice. The screen comes off its pedestal, the desk underneath is usable again, and the top of the panel finally sits at eye level instead of wherever the factory stand put it. On a single desk that is a comfort upgrade. Gas spring
A sealed gas piston counterbalances the screen so it moves at a fingertip and stays exactly where you leave it. The smoothest mechanism and the one that carries the heaviest screens. Best for desks that get adjusted through the day, sit-stand desks and shared workstations.
Spring-assisted (mechanical spring)
An internal coil spring does the counterbalancing. Sturdy, fully adjustable and more economical than gas spring, with a firmer feel. The value choice for fixed workstations and large-quantity office orders.
Articulating
Multi-joint arms built for reach and repositioning — tilt, swivel, screen rotation to portrait and a long extension. Chosen where the screen needs to be shared, turned or pushed well back.
Clamp or grommet
Every LUMI arm ships with both fixings. The clamp grips the back edge of the desk; the grommet post drops through an existing cable hole for a permanent, tidier fixing. Grommet is the usual choice on office rollouts.
VESA compatibility
The arms take the two standard patterns on the back of a monitor — 75×75 mm and 100×100 mm. Screens without a VESA pattern need an adapter plate, which we can supply.
Cable management
Channels along the arm and through the post keep display and power cables off the desk. On office fit-outs this is what makes two hundred desks look finished rather than assembled.

Monitor arms — frequently asked
A monitor arm clamps to the back edge of the desk (or drops through a grommet hole) and holds the screen on an adjustable arm instead of a fixed pedestal. You get the desk space under the screen back, you can set the screen to the right height for the person rather than the height the factory chose, and you can push it away or pull it closer through the day. In an office it also means one desk can suit several people — useful for hot-desking.
Three numbers decide it: the screen size, the screen weight and the VESA pattern on the back of the monitor (usually 75×75 mm or 100×100 mm). Match those to the arm’s rated range — the weight capacity matters more than the size, because a 32-inch panel can weigh anywhere from 4 to 12 kg. If you tell us the monitor model, we will confirm the right arm before you order.
A gas-spring arm uses a sealed gas piston to counterbalance the screen, so it moves at a fingertip and holds position anywhere; it handles heavier screens and is the smoother mechanism. A spring-assisted arm uses a mechanical coil spring — sturdy, adjustable and more economical, but with a firmer feel. For a desk the user adjusts several times a day, choose gas spring. For a fixed workstation, spring-assisted is fine.

Most desks, yes. The clamp fits desktops in a defined thickness range and needs a clear edge at the back; the grommet option drops the post through an existing cable hole. Glass desks, very thick worktops and desks with a back rail or a modesty panel flush to the edge need checking first — on office rollouts we check this at the site survey before quoting.
