Vantage Systems supplies and installs the full Matrix COSEC ATOM range in Bangalore and across India. One thing worth being straight about up front: ATOM units are readers, not standalone door controllers. Matrix’s own specification lists their user profile and event log as “depends on the master device” — so an ATOM reads the card, finger or phone at the door and a controller makes the decision. That is exactly what you want at most doors, and it keeps the cost per door down, but you need the controller in the design. We spec both together.

Made in India

Matrix Comsec has designed and manufactured in India since 1991 — headquartered in Vadodara, Gujarat, with its manufacturing facility at Waghodia and a DSIR-recognised in-house R&D operation. Matrix states its products are “entirely conceived, designed, and manufactured within India”. For you that means an Indian spares and firmware-support chain rather than an import-only channel — and it helps satisfy the Make-in-India / local-content preferences that many government, PSU and enterprise tenders now carry.

Per Matrix’s published specifications every ATOM model is a reader — its user list and event log “depend on the master device”, so each one pairs with a door controller rather than running a door on its own. That is what the Type column above means. Ask for the datasheet for any model.

Matrix COSEC ATOM range — frequently asked questions

Is a COSEC ATOM a complete access control system on its own?
No — and anyone telling you otherwise is setting you up for a surprise. An ATOM is a reader: Matrix lists its user profile and event log as “depends on the master device”, meaning it holds no user database. It connects to a COSEC door controller (ARGO, VEGA or PATH), to an ARC controller over RS-485, or to a third-party panel over Wiegand. We design the reader and the controller together so the door actually works.
Then when would I use ATOM instead of ARGO or PATH?
On the doors that only need to read a credential and pass it on — internal doors, secondary entries, exit-side readers. You put the controller where the decision needs to be made and readers everywhere else. It is usually the cheaper and tidier design across a floor, but the two are not interchangeable: they do different jobs.
What do the letters at the end of the model number mean?
They are the card technology: E is EM Proximity, M is MIFARE, and I is HID iCLASS (which also reads HID Prox, SEOS, MIFARE and EM). A K before that letter means the unit has a keypad. So an RD100KM is a card-plus-keypad reader on MIFARE. Match the letter to whatever cards you already issue — that is usually the deciding factor.
Is Matrix made in India?
Yes — Matrix Comsec is an Indian manufacturer, which means local spares, local firmware support and shorter replacement cycles, and it helps satisfy Make-in-India and local-content preferences in government and enterprise tenders.
What does a COSEC ATOM cost in India?
Quoted per site with a GST invoice — it depends on how many readers, which card technology, and the controllers and software behind them. Send us your door count and we will quote the readers and controllers together, so the number you see is the number that actually opens the doors.
Do you install and maintain it, or only supply?
Both — Vantage Systems is an AV and security integrator. We survey the site, supply the hardware, install and commission it, and provide AMC across Bangalore and pan-India.
